Fashion Magazine

I drew inspiration from 90s Black culture, exploring the era’s influential style, music, and trends to create this fictional magazine. This project allowed me to combine my passion for 80s and 90s fashion with my design work, strengthening my skills in historical research, mood board creation, and editorial layout. I examined how hip-hop, R&B, and Black cinema shaped fashion movements, influencing everything from baggy denim to luxury brand collaborations. Through constructing the zine, I refined my typography choices, print design techniques, and the ability to visually translate cultural movements into a cohesive aesthetic.

Into the Woods Poster

I won first place in a poster design contest for Into the Woods, a theatrical production at UMass Amherst. My design stood out for its strong visuals and alignment with the production’s themes, blending elements from the story with a comic-book aesthetic. Throughout the process, I collaborated with the UMass theatre department to ensure the poster effectively captured the show’s tone and met their promotional needs. This experience strengthened my skills in visual storytelling and working with clients to develop compelling artwork.

Ctrl+Art+Repeat

Ctrl+Art+Repeat is a collaborative art project where myself and others worked to fill a shared canvas, resulting in a collection of unique yet interconnected pieces. Through this project, I refined my layout and composition skills, learned to balance individual expression with collective vision, and deepened my understanding of how design can unify diverse artistic voices into a single, compelling narrative. I also designed the project’s cover, a sticky-note collage that visually captured the essence of our collaboration by layering elements from our artwork into a cohesive composition.
